For seven-year-old dancer Jemma Rumbel, not only has she performed solo at her first eisteddfod but she has come away with a highly commended.
The tiny ballerina has been dancing for three years and is a pupil at Valley Dance Academy.
The Principal of the studio is Dungog dancer Hannah Hopson who opened her own studio in July last year.
Hannah trained with Park Avenue Dance and Entertainment and with the Sandra Osmond School of Dance where her mother Kim also learned to dance.
The academy has been teaching students aged between three and 18 a range of dance styles - classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip hop, acro and character.
The studio which has lessons at the James Theatre on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday is busy preparing for the annual concert.
This year the concert will be held at the James Theatre on December 14.
