The Dungog family has a tradition to attend the pool on the first day of the season and this year was no different.
Bonny, 6, and her big sister Shayne, 12, joined their mum Casey for a dip in the crystal clear water as another swimmer did laps.
The girls' sister Kayla, 10, was to join later in the day after being at a party.
"It's a bit of a tradition for us to come on the first day," said Casey who has already brought the family's season pass.

"I was born and raised in Dungog and grew up at the pool. It's terrific."
While they were not the first family through the gates this year (a visiting Sydney family took that honour) the girls enjoyed their swim.
The rain clouds eventually cleared to make way for a perfect swimming day in water temperature they said was "just right".
Pool entry prices are $3.70 for school age children and adults, $2 for preschoolers and $2.20 for observers.
Swimming lessons will start on October 21 and booking can be made by contacting Bev on 0408 922 197 or Sandra on 0418 921 665.
