Final preparations are well underway for the Dungog RSL Sub-Branch 100th Diggers Dinner to be held on Saturday, October 19.
The annual Diggers Dinner has been held continuously since 1919 - even through all world conflicts that Australians have been involved with.
It's been a special year for the members as they also celebrated the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Dungog RSL Sub-Branch.
A limited edition commemorative bottle of Tawny Port for the event has been created. These bottles will not be available for sale on the night but orders will be taken through secretary Tom Banister.
"The Dungog RSL Sub-Branch appreciates the support that many local people and visitors who have attended the past annual dinners," said Greg Godde.
"The sub-branch is looking forward to another successful dinner especially being the 100th annual dinner and urge any interested persons to get in early with your booking.
"All current and ex-serving defence personnel are invited to attend to make this once in a lifetime dinner an experience to remember.
The event will be at the Dungog Memorial RSL Club auditorium from 7pm.
Prior booking for the dinner is essential due to catering arrangements.
Bookings can be made in person at the RSL sub-branch office every Tuesday between 10am and 2pm or phoning 49923005 or Sub Branch Secretary, Tom Bannister on 0418 480657 .
