Ken Rubeli is nervous that he has missed some, but his list amounted to 30 and over the past month he has photographed every one of them.
In conjunction with the Dungog Festival on the October long weekend Ken's images will be on display opposite the information desk in the Festival Lounge on Dowling Street.
The exhibition is titled 'Longstanding'.
"Everyone has been wonderfully cooperative," said Ken.
"I wanted pictures of people going about their business, so generally I had to be intruding during business hours.
"But once I had framed the image and set up the camera we just waited until there was an opportunity and then captured the moment."
For the project Ken used a super-wide-angle lens, and positioned people towards the background.
"The environment of the workplace was what was most important to me," said Ken.
"Historically I've been a nature photographer. So here I was picturing the lives of significant local people in the surroundings of their everyday habitat."
For the duration of the exhibition Ken is proposing a test for longstanding local residents.
In the 30 large-scale photographs displayed, how many of the people pictured can you name?
More than 50 familiar local faces are pictured.
Ken's photographs will be featured along the corridors of John Hunter Hospital through the Arts for Health program during 2020.
