While an aged care facility might be a little restricted on what plastic it can eliminate, this has not stopped Lara getting involved in the shire's push to eliminate single use plastic.

Envision is a group that takes plastic lids and recycles them in to new products that includes artificial limbs for children.
"And this is where Lara staff, residents, volunteers and relatives can really help as we all use lots of containers with these lids," said Lara Manager Jo Earley.
"Currently we recycle them to be used as bingo counters, but this is not going to save the planet any time soon. So please get involved by collecting the lids so we can send them off to assist with this campaign."
Next to plastic bags, plastic bottle tops are one of the top polluters of the oceans and environment.
They create micro beads which enter the food chain and pollute our beaches.
The aim is to collect 2,000,000 bottle tops to recycle them into, mobility aids, Disability Aids, STEM training tools, and aged care gadgets.
The lids need to be coded with a 2 or a 4 on them and must be clean, to be able to be processed.
Drop them in the purple bin in the foyer next time you visit Lara.
