Toranafest is a bi-annual event hosted by the Hunter Valley Torana Club celebrating the iconic Holden Torana and supporting Ronald McDonald House and Dog Rescue Newcastle.
This Saturday, September 14, sees the Shannon's Super Cruise - Toranas at Tocal.
A convoy of more than 200 Toranas will leave Club Maitland City at Rutherford and surrounding motels at 11am and head through Morpeth, Hinton, Wallalong and then along Clarence Town Road.
Many fans are expected along the route to catch a glimpse of the spectacle.
The group will end up at Tocal College around midday for a two-hour lunch stop.
The cars then make their own way back to the Maitland area.
On Sunday, September 15 you can see the Ansen's Toranafest Show 'n' Shine starting from 9am at the sporting fields at the back of Maitland Park where more than 400 cars are already registered to be on display.
Special guests attending this years' event are:
Jim Richards: 8 Bathurst wins, 5 places from 35 starts (Supercar Hall of Fame Inductee).
Bev Brock: former wife of Peter Brock, integral part of Holden through the years.
Joe Felice: former Manager of Holden Motorsport through the sixties and seventies.
John Sheppard: Manager of the Holden Dealer Team in 1979.
Neill Burns: Holden Dealer Team Engine builder 1979.
There will be food stalls and trade stands, event merchandise and an auction of items.
Entry for the public is free however we do ask that they bring along a can of dog food.
Patrons can donate goods directly to Dog Rescue Newcastle as they will be on site.
Ronald McDonald House volunteers will be at the event, and in fact Ronald McDonald himself will be attending the event.
