If you've been attending the popular Relay for Life event in Dungog for a few years you may have a collection of old shirts tucked in the bottom of a drawer.
Lyn Moseley from the Relay for Life Committee is encouraging people to re-purpose their old shirts or to donate them so other crafty people can.
"In the spirit of Dungog being involved in single use plastic free and recycling we thought we would put the call out for people to re-purpose their old shirts," she said.
She has made a bag and a pillow - both no sew - along with a pencil case and a bag to store her Cancer Council coffee cup in and a pillow slip to use on the night of the relay sleepover.
"We would love people to re-purpose their old shirts and make items we can sell at our street stall in December."
In 2020 Dungog Relay for Life will be held from 2pm on Saturday, March 28 until 8am on Sunday, March 29. The event is scheduled to return to an overnight event at Barnes Oval which rain has cancelled for the last few years.
The Cancer Council has issued a new timetable for the standard registration. Until September 27 it is $15 to register in the pre-launch phase, rising to $20 if you sign up before December 27.
Registering after this date or on the day is $25.
