The new manager at Dungog's RSL Life Care aged care home is certainly doing just that. Mrs Earley has recently taken over as manager but is not a new face to staff, residents or their families.
She has been at Lara for more than 12 years, starting as a Registered Nurse before moving into the Care Manager's Position and recently appointed the Facility Manager.
She has taken over the reins from Jodeane Taylor who has moved back to her passion of home care.
"I've been here a while and I love it," said Mrs Earley.
"It's a new challenge, but a good challenge."
Mrs Earley has been an aged care nurse for 35 years, starting in the United Kingdom from where she and her husband and their daughter moved to Australia about 20 years ago.
She considers her role her vocation, not simply a job and is constantly delighted by the life stories many of the 64 residents share with her.
"You'll never be surprised, they are fabulous and we have lots of fun here and I'm supported by experienced, dedicated staff," she said.
The multi-million refurbishment at Lara is almost complete with lots of regulation celebration days planned.
In January next year Lara will have been opened for 30 years.
"We have a huge community support network who are still very much involved with Lara. It's terrific, along with the support from RSL Life Care."
I've been here a while and love it.
