Orrganisers of the Dungog Tea Party are encouraging families to take advantage of being indoors during the cooler weather to plan their entries in the Tea Cosy Challenge and Trivet Challenge.
"There's plenty of opportunity to create a tea cosy, make a trivet out of any material or for the children to enter the art competition," said Erika Seck.
There's numerous categories for each competition with cash prizes on offer. There is also a section for treasured memories which do not have to be hand made but can be family favourites.
The Dungog Tea Party where the cosy and trivet entries will be on display (and some available for purchase) will be held in the James Theatre from Tuesday, August 20 until Sunday, August 25.
All shire schools have been encouraged to have their students enter the art competition, either using their own design or a supplied tea pot template. IGA in Dungog will display the entries.
Along with the tea cosy, trivet and children's art competitions there will be a display of unique and quirky tea pots.
Businesses are also encouraged to decorate their windows during the festival.
Entries in the tea cosy and trivet competitions must be with the committee by July 20. Entries in the children's art competition close Friday, August 9.
The winners will be announced on the first day of the festival.
