The All Age team hit the ground running against Paterson with second rower Brad Smith crossing for a try inside the first couple of minutes.
Halfback Daniel Bates then went in for a converted try and when Bates handled twice before sending hooker Steven Curnow over for another converted try Dungog found themselves 16-nil up after 12 minutes.
The Warriors continued to go on the attack and create scoring opportunities only for poor execution to let them down.
A few dropped balls also didn't help their cause and the River took advantage of this running in converted tries at the 25th and 35th minute to go to the break trailing by 4.
Dungog were clearly the better side and needed a strong start in the second half and once again dominated early on with Daniel Bates sending Matt Hinton over for a converted try before Bates himself proved to clever for the Paterson defence when he strolled over for his second try to extend the Dungog lead to 28-12.
Dungog's next try was one of the best tries seen at Bennett Park in many a year with the Warriors turning defence into attack in scintillating fashion.
It started with a Paterson chip kick on halfway which was regathered and chip kicked again before being picked up by winger Aaron Cottom metres from his own line.
Cottom started a weaving run up the centre of the field beating several defenders before offloading to Lee Nevin who ran 25 metres before giving the ball to Jake Clifton who drew in a couple off defenders before passing to Daniel Bates who gave the last pass for Nathan Price to score a memorable try which had supporters from both sides applauding.
The River were starting to get a bit frustrated which resulted in one of their players being sent to the sin bin before Matt Hinton finished the Dungog try scoring for the day when he crossed for his second.
Dungog were far too good on the day but there is still improvement needed if they want too figure prominently in this year's semi final series.
Injuries have definitely impacted on the Warriors' recent performances and hopefully we will see a few of these players back on deck in the coming weeks
