The Dungog-Clarence Town CWA 's "A Day in the Bush" attracted a large crowd from across the Hunter on Friday, June 21.
The event started around 16 years ago when the late Bob Sanders decided it was time to share his poetry with a larger audience.
Since then the event has continued to offer a platform for talented poets and musical entertainers, all while providing a day out with a difference.
Bob's widow Lois now co-ordinates the event and this year two of Bob's brothers, Jim and Dick also attended with Dick one of the performers.
The renowned cooking skills of the CWA members were put on show early in the day with the event starting with a morning tea before the performers took to the stage.
Compere for the day was Tom Boorer with musical interludes by the Dungog Ukulele Group and performers Dick Sanders, Jenny Markwell, Tony Parry, Claire Reynolds, Lois Sanders, Malcolm Dent and Tony Parry.
The proceeds from the day go towards the Dungog-Clarence Town CWA projects.
Money raised from the sale of hand made quilts went to Carrie's Place Inc to assist with their domestic violence and homelessness services.
