Paterson River make it two from two to kick off season

Paterson River had a comfortable 30-16 win against Tea Gardens to remain unbeaten after two rounds of the Newcastle and Hunter Community Rugby League Northern Conference competition.

The Rivers' win at home on Saturday followed a 42-12 smashing of Karuah in round one.

They share top spot with the other two unbeaten teams Maitland United and Hinton, but have a far superior 44 points difference.

Dean Jones led the way with a hat-trick of tries against Tea Gardens. Rhyan Winkler scored one try on Saturday, after crossing for four last week against the Roos, and Bronson Scott got the other four-pointer

Mathew Garland kicked five from five this week, following six from seven against Karuah.

Paterson have the weekend off for Easter and return on Saturday, April 27, with the road trip to take on Stroud who are without a win after losses to Hinton and Maitland United.
