Federal Member for Lyne Dr David Gillespie has congratulated Dungog Common Recreation Reserve Land Manager on securing federal funds towards new equipment to assist volunteers maintain the 600 acre recreation area.

Dr Gillespie said funding of $2,206 was being made available under the Federal Coalition Government's Volunteer Grants Program.
"The volunteers do an amazing job looking after this fantastic local public area which is used for mountain biking, bush walking, horse riding, school cross country events, the Dungog Gun Dog event and many other events," Dr Gillespie said.
"New tools, a barbecue and other equipment will be purchased to help the volunteers maintain this important local and tourist asset," he added
