Following the success of last year’s event the Dungog Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Dungog Shire Council are putting the free family event on again from 5-8pm on Wednesday, December 5.
“Not only is it a great way to get some Christmas shopping done, it’s a chance for the community to come together and enjoy a free, fun family event in our own town,” said chamber president Jennifer Lewis.
Students from Joey’s Pre School and Dungog High will provide entertainment from 5pm ahead of the street parade at 6pm featuring tractors, vintage cars and the arrival of Santa.
There will be plenty of opportunities for families to have a photo with Santa at the Visitors Information Centre, with free face painting, local market stalls and Clarence Town Bowling Club’s jumping castle.
The Combined Churches Christmas Carols will be held in the James Theatre from 6.30pm.
As a special attraction this year there will be a live nativity scene for the launch of the Uniting Church’s annual nativity display. Be sure to look out for the wise men – and their camels.
Lovey’s IGA Wine, Beer and Food Night will also be on, with all proceeds going to support the Dungog Hospital Auxiliary.
“Wine lovers, craft beer buffs and local foodies can enjoy a great night trying and testing excellent products and local produce from a wide range of suppliers,” said James Lovegrove from Lovey’s
Tickets are available on the night for $10 per adult.
The Boomerang Bags Team will be selling a range of reusable bags, bees wax wraps and other great gift ideas.
