‘The brand has been a long time coming but we are pleased to now have the project completed,” Chair of DRT Cameron Archer said.
‘We needed to differentiate our products from others in the Hunter bearing in mind what the Dungog Region has to offer is very different from other destinations in the Hunter.
“In fact, that is our great strength, we are complementary to other Hunter destinations rather than being competitive”.
Cordial Pty Ltd, a Newcastle company which is owned and operated by a family who are from Dungog created the branding.
“This was a great advantage because they knew what the region had to offer and were also passionate about creating an effective and lasting brand for the Dungog Region,” said Dr Archer.
DRT has also created a list of what it believes to be the Top Ten Experiences in the region.
Brochures will be produced go on the visitdungog website, onto social media as well having hard copies printed and distributed.
Dungog Regional Tourism was established following a study into the future opportunities for tourism within the Shire.
This provided the impetus to establish an independent organisation which would work with the council, tourism operators and the community to grow tourism in the region.
