Military swim-in at Clarence Town

Military history fans got the chance to get up close with more than 60 old vehicles including rare amphibious war machines at Clarence Town on the weekend with the third annual swim in and rally on the Williams River.

On Friday, the group re-created a 1941 photograph taken outside the Erringhi Hotel.

Bill Landenberger from Elemore Vale took the part of his late father Henry Landenberger who is pictured in the centre of the old photograph.

Bill’s daughter Justine Talevski who lives at  Clarence Town had previously gifted the photo to the pub.

Following a street parade which featured a fly over by tiger moths, the amphibious vehicles hit the water on Saturday and on Sunday, the bowling club hosted a civilian and military vehicle car show.
