The two-day event kicks off on Friday, November 9 and continues on Saturday, November 10.
Now in its 125th year, the only time in its history a show was not held was during the war years, when six shows were not held.
While the popular piglet racing event will not be held this year, the show’s Facebook page went in to meltdown over this year’s advertising of the“Dachshund Dash”.
“Dog owners from as far as Queensland have been entertaining the idea of ‘dusting off their dachshunds’ and making the trek to Dungog for a day of fun and games,” said Taneal Anderson.
The school program will be held on Friday with its animal nursery always attracting a lot of interest. There’s also a Farm Visit photo booth for people able to pose for professional portraits with their favourite farm animal.
Dungog Shire Council has partnered with Ability Links NSW again this year to provide Dungog Show with the Event tent.
The Event Tent offers a safe and supportive space for people to retreat to when they need some time away from the noise of the show.
The tent is free to use and has smaller sensory tents with tools designed for children, particularly those who have sensory processing disorders.
The tent will cater for a broad cross section of people with disabilities, their families and carers as well as older people or parents with prams.

There will be horse classes in the main ring all day Saturday along with post splitting, the grand parade, beef cattle and goat judging.
There’s a tractor pull, a State of Origin featuring a Queensland Collie versus a NSW Kelpie, and a smash ’em up derby.
The band 24 Hours will perform in the evening which will also feature a fireworks display.
This year there will be a junior showgirl crowned.
