Entitled “ What’s my Scene” the exhibition will be staged from September 27 to  October 25 at the Dungog By Design premises at 224 Dowling Street, Dungog.

Director of the Muswellbrook Regional Art Centre,  Brad Franks, will officially open the exhibition on Saturday 29 September at 2pm.

The exhibition, which draws its inspiration from the Dungog hills, will feature the work of 23 local artists and artisans.

Exhibits will range from ceramics, sculpture, embroidery, jewelry, fibre-art, oil and watercolour paintings, photography, blacksmith ironworks, timber furniture, soaps, and bookbinding, to textile art and hand dyed silk scarfs.

One of the founding members of Dungog By Design Pamela Priday said that the exhibition brings together the best of the recent work by members of the collective.

“Everyone in Dungog By Design draws inspiration from our beautiful natural environment,” she said.

“The works in the exhibition provide a unique perspective on the region expressed through an amazing range of artistic styles and techniques.

“The exhibition is tribute to the very dedicated and active Dungog By Design committee and another important milestone in the development of the group.

“It will provide a real boost to the creative spirit in the Dungog region.”

Since its formation Dungog By Design has become a creative hub for the region.

Membership has now reached 39 members and with the strong support of Westwood Dungog the group has established an impressive gallery and sales space to promote the work of local artists and artisans. 

Lovey’s IGA,  has also provided strong support for the exhibition.
