The circus will be at the Dungog Showground on September 7, 8 and 9 for a number of perfomances.
Circus Avalon is a Newcastle-based community circus founded more than 25-years ago by Tasmanian native John Campbell.
“Under our iconic green and yellow big-top we produce high energy performances for all ages young or old,” said Michael Riley from Avalon Circus.
“Not only do we deliver the Hunter Region’s finest circus acts we also teach them too.
“Avalon Circus Academy has been training children and adults for over two decades.
“Building on the concept of “Social Circus”, we teach circus through freedom of play and focus on the personal development of each student’s key life skills.”
Avalon Circus Academy trains up to 100 students per term.
In 2010 and 2012 the troupe earned the “Best Theatrical Special Event “Conda Award and in 2017 earned the Leading Circus Fringe Show award from the Australian Circus Industry.
Circus Avalon artists Kara Bissett and Juliet Creanor are two time Australian Circus Champions.
Artist Simon Tarrant set the world record for 52 hula hoop spins using his beard last year at the Australian Circus Festival.
