Flanno Friday saw schools and businesses wear a flannelette shirt in a fundraiser for our drought affected farmers. The day was organised by the Commonwealth Bank Dungog with the proceeds being distributed to the Burrumbuttock Hay Runners.
The branch’s manager Karen Hancock said she had been overwhelmed by the community’s generosity and warmly thanked all those who bought cakes and raffle tickets or made a donation.
“Our goal was $6000, and at close of business on Friday we were at $8731,” she said.
“We will be fundraising until the end of the month when the raffle will be drawn, lolly guessing and silent auction for hay bales will end.”
