Now organisers of the Dungog Festival want to bring your love of footpath chalk back.
A water-themed Chalk Art Competition is set to be a highlight of the Dungog Festival which will be held over the October long weekend from September 28 to October 1.
Both children and adults will be invited to take part in a water-theme chalk-art competition along Dowling Street during the Sunday Street Party on Sunday, September 30.
Offering some great prizes, the competition will be led by local artists who will inspire and guide the competition.
There’s no need to pre-book for this event – just find the Chalk Art site during the Sunday Street Party and command your own piece of concrete to produce a water-themed image.
The festival will feature a film program at the James Theatre, a gala street parade and the Long Lazy Lunch as the finale. The Sunday Street Party will be aimed at families and music lovers.
There'll be several workshops, including, for the first time, one for budding screen writers and there will be Sculpture on the Farm at Fosterton.
Another part of the festival is billed as “the most spectacular night of the year” – Dungog's famed Long Table Dinner. The main street of Dungog will once again be transformed into a giant dining room, hosting more than 200 guests dining under the stars.
