From meals on wheels to respite care and transport and domestic services they help older people and those with a disability to stay in their own homes as long as possible.
On Friday they went a step further in this care to help those a little further afield – the farming communities to the west suffering through the worst drought in decades.
The staff and board members made personal donations at the Dungog branch of the Commonwealth Bank with its Burrumbuttock Hay Runners “Buy a Bale” appeal.
They also delivered a fresh bale of hay donated by Norco which the branch will use in its silent auction to further raise money for the appeal.
Neighbourcare Manager Cherylin Brown said the staff and board members’ donations will go straight to the farmers and communities who need it most.
“The wider community supported us during our hard times of 2015 it is only fitting that we show that same support to other in their time of need,” said one staff member.
