Paterson River continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 32-12 win in the local derby against Hinton at Paterson Sportsground on Saturday.
Lock Ryan Winkler was man of the match running in two tries and doing a power of work in defence.
Front-rower Dean Carter made plenty of yards putting the Hinton defence on the back foot with his powerful running.
Dylan Young also had a fine game.
Tries also went to Jay Brown, Andrew Roberts, Jason Smith and Jay Smith and hooker Matthew Garland defied the windy condition to land four of six shots on goal.
Meanwhile, Dungog remains at the bottom of the Newcastle and Hunter Rugby League C-grade table with another agonisingly close loss.
The Warriors fell just short going down 38-36 against Awabakal at Bennett Park on Sunday.
It has been a frustrating season for Dungog who have just one draw and a single point against their name after six rounds.
But they could easily have three wins, with another two-point loss to Swansea in C-grade in round four and a draw against University of Newcastle in B-grade before their demotion.
