The match was over by halftime, with the slick Gloucester backs carving up out wide for a 42-10 score at the break.
However, lock George Dunn and back Jake Bell spearheaded a much improved second half effort.
With new found grit in defence, the Cobras managed to fight back to to within 10 points.
In the end it was too little, too late, with Gloucester’s thumping first half securing the win for the mountain men.
The Cobras now have a week off before their next match away at Karuah at 2.30pm on June 16.
