With over 300 nominations received across 12 categories, over 160 people will gather at Dungog RSL on May 12 to find out who has scooped this year’s winning titles.
DDCC President, Jenny Lewis said it is encouraging to see yet another strong year of nominations, proving local business is thriving.
“We’ve seen exceptional growth in the new business category in particular, which reflects what’s happening in the shire. There’s such a diverse range of businesses nominated overall - it’s testament to our tightly knit community spirit and strong support for local business,” she said.

The awards raise awareness of the contribution local businesses and reward those who have provided great service throughout the year.
“Size does not matter. It’s attitude, quality and ability to promote our district that count,” Jenny said.
Categories include: Tourism & Hospitality, Rural Producers & Manufacturing & Industry, Professional Services, Trades & Construction, Outstanding Employee (U 25), Outstanding Employee (O 25), Retail, Customer Service, Environment & Sustainability (Golden Axe), Outstanding New Business, Community Sector and Hall of Fame.
“There are also two awards not open for nomination, the Chamber Members Award, which recognises the contribution of a member who has been nominated and has promoted the chamber in the district. And the Overall Business Excellence Award.”
