Mother’s day is a time to acknowledge these amazing women in our lives and take some time to show our appreciation for mothers, grandmothers and all the special women in our world.
As we approach Mothering Sunday, take some time to think about the women in your life, what they do for you, how they’ve influenced or helped to shape the person you are today and how grateful you are for their relentless love and ongoing care and support.
Gifts aside it’s often the words we express that show the most gratitude and leave a lasting impression on the hearts of our loved ones.
Here, Dungog local business owners have shared with us their thoughts on Mother’s Day and what it means to them.
“It’s a day to acknowledge just how amazing women, and all mums are.”
Lisa Lambert-Smith, Shine Hair and Beauty & The Boutique on Grey Street.
“Mother’s Day is special to me because it is a day we get to spoil and appreciate our mums even more than we normally would.
“It’s a time when the family gets together and although presents are given, it is about much so more than that,”
Georgia Collison, Williams Valley Pharmacy.
“In my life I have lost my mother, mother -in –law, my step-mother and step mother-in-Law. Really I’m just careless with precious things.
“They were all special parts of my life and it is nice to have one day to give thanks for them all,”
Lurline Trustum, Dungog & District Neighbourcare.
“Mother’s day is a day to celebrate and honour all of our mothers. It’s is also a chance to remember all of those beautiful women that we have lost – just like I have.
“It’s a chance to show my gratitude, love and respect for my mother for all she has done for me from the time I was born, as I know it takes lot of unwaivering commitment, dedication and love to bring a child into the world.
“That I’m truly grateful for,”
Karen Bosworth, Chic Clothing Co.
“Mother's Day celebrates all mothers and the important role they play in our families and lives everyday. I wish all mums a happy Mother's Day,”
James Lovegrove, Lovey’s IGA
