Dr Cameron Archer, Chair of Dungog Regional Tourism (DRT) said it was important that those with an interest in tourism provide feedback on what is proposed.
“The region has much to offer and we need to promote it in an effective and cohesive way – this is where branding is important,” he said.
The branding project is part of the overall strategy established when a review was done of tourism in the shire.
“DRT was established in response to this and a major element of the strategy was to rebrand tourism,” said Dr Archer.
DRT selected Cordial Pty Ltd through a competitive process and they have prepared the concepts for review.
These are available for viewing at the Dungog Shire Visitor Information Centre or online at http://www.getcordial.com.au/dungogshire/ from Wednesday, May 9.
A survey can be completed online or a hardcopy available at the Visitor Information Centre.
Closing date for feedback is Friday, May 25.
“DRT is looking forward to having this brand set and it will then be in a position to develop products and promotions for the region,” said Dr Archer.
“The Dungog region has an entirely different range of tourism products than any other part of the Hunter, so what we have to offer is compatible and not competitive with other Hunter locations.
“Now is the time to have an input into how tourism will be branded into the future.”
