Finding a truly special gift is important and often the best places to find that something special or unique is inside our local boutique stores.
The Dungog Shire is a great place to find something different and support businesses by shopping local and Dungog District Chamber of Commerce is getting behind local stores to encourage the community to think local first.
While gift vouchers are often popular with mum, adding a coffee or lunch gives your gift something personal and allows you to create memories of your time together.
Dungog District Chamber of Commerce members are diverse and include cafes, restaurants, boutiques, hair salons, garden centre, bakeries, antique and bric a brack, Destiny Haven’s homemade chocolates and the local pharmacy, - all for you to find mum a gift she will always treasure.
With local businesses owned by people who live in the Dungog community, shopping local ensure that your money is supporting those that are invested in the community’s future.
It’s so much more than putting money into a business owner’s pocket, it is supporting and improving your local economy and spending with those businesses that support local charities and sporting groups with regular donations. Dungog District Chamber of Commerce commented,
“Our local businesses provide soul and character and instil pride in our Community. They give life to the main street, provide a place to get together have a chat or perhaps promote and advertise your event.
Our local businesses provide soul and character and instil pride in our Community.
“If we make a collective effort to commit to the concept of buying local and using our local services, we can make a difference.
“We know that the retail spend in the lead up to Mother’s Day is very important to many of our business operators so we need to be getting the message out to everyone that by shopping locally we really are ensuring the vitality of our own community.”
