Fire crews were first called to the Keppies Road property at about 7.30am, arriving to find the house completely ablaze.
The ferocity of the fire saw a total of seven Rural Fire Services vehicles and two Fire and Rescue units attend the scene, about 10km out of Paterson.
Inspector Glenn Byrnes from the Lower Hunter Rural Fire Service said all residents were evacuated from the home, while one vehicle was destroyed and one damaged.
Inspector Byrnes said there were initial concerns that the remaining steel frame of the house may have been electrified by damaged solar panels, with Country Energy called in to check the damage.
He said the cause of the fire was in the process of being confirmed.
