Harking back to the golden age of streaking, a bronzed young man, sans clothing, ran across the field during a break in the game between Stockmans and Karuah White.

But heavy fines, bans from attending matches and tighter security ended the phenomena which was as much a part of the game as bushy moustaches, long hair and flamboyant characters.

Saturday’s streaker was greeted with a sigh from one young fan and an exclamation “Not another one!”.

“There’s streakers here all the time,” he explained as it seems Vacy provides the conditions for the perfect streaking storm – a pub right next door to the sportsground and regular bus pub crawls and bucks turns stopping off with young imbibers.

Police and the cricket association do not condone this type of behaviour. Charges of public indecency may apply.

The Stockmans fielders spent most of the day collecting balls from the boundary fence and beyond as Karuah White smashed 4/318 from their 35 overs.

Colin McCarthy got the boundary fest off to a lightning start with two successive sixes as he made his way to 55 at way better than a run a ball.

Opening partner Sam Larkings joined the fun making 73 before being caught on the boundary. 

Teenager Lucas Barry made a quick fire 40, captain James Drinkwater finished on 75 not out and Brandon Watt was unbeaten on 30.

Stockmans were all out for 159 in 33.4 overs. Zach Watt was the chief wicket taker for Karuah taking 4-16 off 2.4 overs.

Wallarobba had their second win of the season upsetting top-two side Karuah Red with a 37-run victory at Bennett Park.

Stuart Reeves finished unbeaten on 82 as Wallarobba posted 6/191 from their 35 overs. Opener David Slade made 40, Daniel Rumbel 20 and Luke Lye 16.

Karuah Red were all out for 154 in 31 overs.

Rumbel (3-22 off six overs) and Slade (3-30 off six) both picked up three wickets each, while Chad Walters (2-23 off seven) and Jake Clifton (2-30 off five) got a brace each.

Bunnies were able to successfully defend 104 against Clarence Town at Dungog High School on a day when eight batsmen across the two teams collected ducks and Clarence Town was all out for 69 in 23 overs.

Openers Chris McDonald (21) and Matt Reynolds (19) gave Bunnies a solid start. However, the wickets soon started to fall with alarming regularity and Scott Gardner (16) and tailender Lahiru Premarathne (20) were the only two other batsman to make double figures.

Tony Maytom finished with the fine figures of 5-24 from 6.3 overs and was well supported by Liam Blakemore who claimed 3-24 from seven.

Mathew Horn top scored for Clarence Town with 21. Mitch Maytom made 13 and Peter Horn was not out on 12.

Kris Lawrence led the bowling taking a hat-trick in his 4-0 off 1.3 overs, Ethan Curtin-Edwards took 3-23 and Scott Gardner claimed 2-9.
