Don’t underestimate the positive impact of supporting local businesses. We have some fantastic businesses, stocking a wide range of products and offering great services. Take some time to visit as you might just find what you are looking for. Many local businesses are also more than happy to issue you with a gift voucher. Just ask.
CHRISTMAS PARTY
It’s full steam ahead for the Dowling Street Christmas Party on December 6 from 5pm with a great response from many local businesses who will extend their trading hours and stall holders. Entries are also open for the handmade Christmas decoration competition and the business decoration competition. Head to our website at www.ddcc.org.au or contact me on 0432 128 143.
NEW STRATEGIES
This week, Ivan Skaines, Dungog Shire Council’s Economic Development and Tourism Co-ordinator advised that the NSW Government, in collaboration with local councils, is working to develop Regional Economic Development Strategies (REDS) for regions in NSW. REDS will be used to inform regional development policy and identify actions that can support economic growth in our region. The NSW Government budget earlier this year included a record investment of $1.3 billion to regional NSW.
An important component of the REDS is to ensure that regional communities, business and industries have a say, and a survey has been developed to obtain feedback. To complete the survey follow this link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/22HDDKN
We are also pleased to advise Jelinda Millgate, Regional Business Connect Advisor, from the Business Centre in Newcastle will visit Dungog Shire again before Christmas to answer any small business-related questions. You can contact Jelinda on 4925 7700 or 0428 214 870 or by email jelinda@businesscentre.com.au.
