More than half the lots of a new rural residential estate have been snapped up by buyers keen to call Clarence Town home.
Hardie Pacific have sold eight of the 15 available lots in the The Wallaroo Views Estate off Fotheringay Road in the first weeks after it was released.
Jamie Boswell from Hardie Pacific said the lots ranged in price from $240,000 to $380,000 with a minimum lot size of 0.8 hectares (2 acres).
Buyers have been a mix of young couples, locals, people from the areas bounded by Medowie and Raymond Terrace and Sydney buyers who want to live on acreage but still be close to all the amenities, he said.
The most expensive lots have already sold and Mr Boswell expected to see building start possibly as early as the first quarter of next year, pending council approvals.
The lots were predominantly flat, fenced and landscaped and had an outlook of the Wallaroo Conservation reserve with the boat ramp to the Williams River about five minutes away. The estate is just within the Dungog Shire.
