The men were 17 and 18 when they allegedly repeatedly sexually abused an 11-year-old boy at a home in the area.
The elder was charged with 11 offences, including five charges of sexual intercourse with a child aged 10-16, one charge of committing an indecent act in company, and five indecent assault and indecent act charges.
The younger was charged with five counts of sexual intercourse with a child aged 10-16, one charge of indecent assault and three alleged indecent act offences.
The two men were charged on June 20 after a man made a statement to police in late 2016 alleging he was sexually abused by two teenagers in the area who were known to him.
The two men appeared in Newcastle Local Court on July 10 but did not enter pleas during a short hearing before magistrate Robert Stone.
They were granted bail and the matters will return to court in September.
