LOOSELY WOVEN CONCERT
People, don't forget the wonderful amateur concert party, Loosely Woven, will be at the Wallarobba Hall this Sunday afternoon at 1pm.
These folks are from all over the place (hence Loosely Woven, see?) from Sydney to Tamworth. They play the most amazing aggregation of musical instruments.
There is a surprising number of them, and my advice to you is not to miss them.
Entry to the concert is cheap and you get a cup of tea, and a bickie.
You would be a mug to miss it.
CHEWING THE FAT
Now, here is an innovation! An idea that has sprung from one of the many book clubs has taken root.
It seems that for some time over at Gresford, that well-spring of notable ideas, people of all corners of their society and district have been meeting once a month to just chat.
They discuss anything and everything. From the weather to whatever. And, it has been extremely successful.
It has been suggested that Dungog could do worse than to emulate this great innovation.
Accordingly, it is proposed to meet on the last Friday of each month at the Dungog Bowling Club.
There will be no formalities. No chairman, no minutes, no names, no pack-drill. Just like-minded citizens getting together to chew the fat, as it were, and maybe have a drink.
And, you know, from such forums come the best ideas. Ideas that create small revolutions!
Anyone can turn up. No limitations, no age limits, it is just an informal gathering. It will cost nothing, other than your time.
And, if you've had an idea under your bonnet for ages, and you'd like to see what others think of it, now's your chance!
On the other hand, you may not have an idea that bugs you. No matter - just rock up. It's just a citizens’ get-together.
Let's see where this takes us.
So, it's at the Dungog Bowlo on the last Friday of this month, the 24th. It starts at 6pm and goes 'til you're ready to go home.
