A toddler was rushed to hospital yesterday after being struck by a car at Boonah. Emergency services responded to reports of a two-year-old boy in a serious condition after being hit by a car on Church Street. Queensland Ambulance initially reported that a rescue chopper had been deployed to airlift the child to hospital but a spokeswoman said the weather was not optimal for transporting a patient. The spokeswoman said the toddler had been taken by ambulance to Boonah Hospital with critical care paramedics and high acuity response team on board. She said the child would likely be transferred to another hospital. The incident happened at 4.11pm and the child suffered life-threatening injuries. A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said Church Street was closed to traffic after the accident. Read more local news here
