Mobile Service Centres (MSC’s) provide Australians living in remote and regional communities with face-to-face access to customer service agents who can help them apply for benefits or resolve any claim issues over the counter.
The bus will be at the following venues:
Gresford
Thursday, November 1 from 9:30am to 12pm at the Gresford Bowling Club car park, Park Street, East Gresford
Paterson
Thursday, November 1 from 1:30pm to 4pm at the Paterson CBC car park, Duke Street, Paterson
Stroud
Monday, November 5 from 9:30am to 2:30pm at Cowper Street near Stroud Swimming Pool.
Introduced by the Howard Government a decade ago, MSC’s have helped more than 140,000 people and travelled more than 800,000 kilometres since they have been on the road.
Minister for Human Services Michael Keenan said the Mobile Service Centres provide critical information, assistance and support to rural and regional Australians.
“The Mobile Service Centres reinforce the Federal Coalition Government’s commitment to deliver the best service possible to all Australians, regardless of where they live,” Minister Keenan said.
Federal Member for Lyne Dr David Gillespie said a social worker and a Farm Household Case Officer would be on board the Mobile Service Centre.
“Golden Wattle is travelling to drought affected areas to provide extra support for farmers in need, including assistance with Farm Household Allowance claims,” Dr Gillespie said.
Information about Department of Veterans’ Affairs programs and support services for veterans and their families will also be available.
“This is an opportunity for members of our community to come down, meet staff and get the information they need,” Dr Gillespie said.
“You don’t need an appointment and it’s free – so if you have a question, make sure you come down and visit the team aboard the Golden Wattle this this week.”
