Chelsea has has been nominated for a TAFE Trainee of the Year Award after completing her Certificate IV in Property Management Services at Maitland TAFE.
The qualification means she has her Real Estate Licence and her Auctioneer’s Licence.
Now the amiable and ambitious sales associate at Ray White Rural Dungog is in the process of obtaining her Stock and Station Agent Licence which will enable her to sell properties more than 50 acres and do livestock and clearance sales.
Chelsea’s smiling face is one of the first you see when coming into the Ray White office in Dowling Street Dungog.
After finishing school at Dungog High and working in the hospitality industry she decided one day to “do something a little different” and resolved to pursue a career in real estate.
“I’ve always had a love of houses and gardens and want to own my own house at an early age,” said Chelsea.
She discussed her career plan with Dungog’s Ray White Rural Principal Dee Braithwaite who happened to have an admin role available.
“It became obvious pretty quickly that Chelsea could do more than admin work and we basically created a role for her, ” said Dee.
“Twelve months in we just can’t stop her,” she said of Chelsea’s enthusiasm for the industry.
Part of her traineeship which is also now complete saw Chelsea work in all facets of the agency – admininstration, sales and property management.
If she is looking for a mentor it is hard to go passed Dee who was this month named Agent of the Year in the 2018 RateMyAgent awards – the largest real estate awards in Australia.
The awards are determined from customer reviews from vendors and purchasers by RateMyAgent which is an Australia-wide real estate agent and statistics website.
Ray White Rural Dungog was also named Dungog Agency of the Year which puts it in the top 7 % of agents in the state.
Dee who is also the principal of Ray White Rural Lifestyle Sydney was named Ray White’s best rural agent in all of Australia in the last financial year.
Chief executive officer of Ray White Rural and Livestock, Stephen Nell, said that female rural agents were being rated by clients as the best for customer service.
“No longer do you look for the best local ‘bloke’ to sell your farm, you look for the best local agent,” he said.
“(Women) are reshaping the rural agency space, and all for the better.”
