The initiative is run by Australian not-for-profit organisation, Share the Dignity, which has been providing homeless and at risk women with sanitary products since early 2015.
Karen Hancock, Branch Manager of Commonwealth Bank Dungog said they are thrilled to be supporting the project to make life better for a woman or girl experiencing homelessness or poverty in our local community this Christmas.
The Dungog team are hoping to collect 30 bags during the campaign.
If you’d like to donate, it’s simple.
First of all, choose a new handbag or a handbag in good condition that you no longer use, then simply fill it with items that would make a woman feel special, and pop in a thoughtful note or Christmas card and show her someone cares.
Suggestions for including in the bag are:
- shampoo
- conditioner
- toothbrush
- toothpaste
- tissues
- pads and tampons
- facial wipes
- hand sanitiser
- brush/comb
- soap
- deodorant
- a scarf or jewllery
- a pen and notepad
