There may have been only one game in Dungog cricket this weekend because of rain but it was a belter with Clarence Town prevailing in a big-scoring match against Stockmans.

Stockmans posted a respectable 193 from 31.5 overs and looked to be on top until an unbeaten 45 by Shannon Threlfo got Clarence Town across the line with 7/206 in the 29th over.
The win gives Clarence Town an unbeaten start to the season after three games and a break at the top of the table.
The games between Wallarobba and Gresford and Bunnies and Karuah Red were both washed out and declared draws.
Karuah White had the bye.
Clarence Town shared the wickets around in dismissing Stockmans.
Mick Bagnall finished with the best figures of 3-14 off two overs, while Mick Flannery claimed 2-35 and Zane Turner 2-41 off their seven overs.
Opener Mathew Horn and No.3 Rhys Flannery gave Clarence Town a solid start to their run chase after Mick Bagnall went for 9 with the score on 15.
Flannery top scored with 55 with his innings including six fours and three sixes. Horn’s 37 included six fours and a six before he was out with the score on 69.
Skipper Will Trelfo gave (12) gave Flannery good support taking the score to 97.
When Flannery was dismissed with the score on 137, Clarence Town had a mini-collapse losing three wickets for just six runs.
However, Shannon Threlfo steadied the ship and quickly set about reeling in the target with four boundaries and three sixes in his 45.
The wet weather also hit the junior ranks with one of Dungog Shire’s junior teams able to take the field.
