The committee presented Dungog Rural Fire Service, Dungog Rotary Club, Dungog A&H, Wallarobba Cricket Club, Dungog and District Cricket Club, and the Bunnies Cricket Club with their share on October 7.
The grant was a thank you for their support of the annual Easter Saturday Rodeo.
Dungog Rodeo Committee president Bill Rumble said the group could not run the annual event without input from these community groups.
He said the rodeo was “by far” the most successful event held in the Dungog Shire.
Dungog A&H received $5000 which it will use to complete work in the northern bar and its surrounds. . Dungog Rural Fire Service received $800, Dungog Rotary Club was given $1500 and the cricket clubs shared in $4,300.
It is a great pleasure to be able to have local charitable and sporting bodies share in, firstly, running the Rodeo, and then to share in the proceeds,
- Dungog Rodeo Committee president Bill Rumble
Community groups who want to help organise and run the 2018 event, in return for a share of the proceeds, should contact committee secretary and treasurer Carol-Ann Cummings at Creative Craft and Fabrics on 4992 1232.
