Created four years ago as an event to bring the historic rural school and the community together, the ride has continued to grow in reputation and popularity.
Along with the bike ride, the fun of a country fair with market stalls, barbecue and entertainment also attracts non-riders.
Julie Vasic from the school’s P and C which organises the event, anticipates that numbers will increase this year after the success of previous years.
“The day is designed to bring families and competitive riders alike together with a 10km ride and a more challenging 27km course,” she said.
“It beings at Glen William School (on Glen William Road) and both courses take in the picturesque views of the Glen William/Glen Martin loop and the Williams River.”
There is a map for riders and there are drink stations along the way, with support vehicles, and traffic warning signs for the safety of riders.
Registration ($2 per rider) is at 8.30am, with the markets and the barbecue opening from 9am.
The ride starts at 10am after the school bell rings to marshall the riders. Riders under 16 years of age need to be accompanied by an adult.
“It’s really going to be a fun day,” said Mrs Vasic.
“There’s children’s games such as tug-o-war and sack races, the giant slide, delicious country cooking, musical entertainment, free face painting, an SES display, a chocolate wheel and a variety of stalls including the Candy Crush lolly shop, cakes, books, soaps, honey, olives and many more,” said Mrs Vasic.
