Established by the CB Alexander Foundation in 2015, the Alumni aims to provide a formal network and connection to past students, staff and the community.
Tess has grown up in the local area and is excited at the opportunity to develop the Alumni. Attending Dungog High School and graduating from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Communication majoring in Public Relations, Tess says that this role is “a dream come true”.
Having grown up on a rural property and spending the majority of her childhood on her grandparents Chichester-based dairy farm ‘Dixieland,’ it has given her the passion combined with her degree to communicate with ex-students, ex- staff and the community about the College and it’s on-goings.
“I love the area that we live in and what better place to work than where you can feel you are at home,” Tess said.
Tocal College Principal Darren Bayley says that this is a great step for the Tocal Alumni with the new role creating unlimited potential and exciting new opportunities for the College at large.
The Tocal Alumni has absorbed the original Tocal Ex-Students Association (TESA) and grown enough to have a team dedicated to staying in touch with the community. As Tocal has played such a large part in the community, the Alumni is not necessarily for ex-students and staff, but for anyone who has had any association or general interest in the College.
The Alumni is producing a quarterly newsletter with stories featuring past students, provides information on job opportunities, training and advertises upcoming events and reunions.
