The bowlers came from near and far for the day, including Lemon Tree Passage, Abermain, Stonebridge, Kurri, East Maitland, Gresford and Paxton.
“The club was bursting at the seams with more than 100 people in it,” said the women’ s club’s publicity officer Adele Hucherko.
“The rink has never seen so many bowlers on it at the one time,”
The day included morning tea and lunch and there was plenty of fun and fellowship with raffles and tambolas.
The ladies estimated around $1500 was raised on the day with Beyond Blue being the main beneficiary.
The charity was chosen in memory of the much loved and widely respected vet Dr Peter Fortunaso who passed away recently.
Last year the gala day supported Diabetes Australia.
“We would like to thank our lady bowlers and Shaun Gordon from the club for all their hard work in making this day the huge success it was,” said Mrs Hucherko.
The women’s club is always happy to welcome new members.
They meet every third Sunday at 10am at the Clarence Town bowling club with a meeting, a social game of bowls and lunch and a chat.
The club holds a social day every Tuesday at 1pm, which many of the lady bowlers also play in.
