The 25-year-old joined the Australian men’s fours team with Alex Hill, Jack Hargreaves and Josh Hicks that claimed gold in the A-final almost 12 months after making the Olympic men’s pairs decider in Rio.
The Aussies started the race strongly, averaging 44 strokes per minute, and led at the halfway mark before holding off a fast-finishing Great Britain side in the last 500 metres.
The World Rowing Cup 3 will be held in Switzerland next month before the World Rowing Championships in Florida, USA, in September.
