David Cox and Haley Collis’s first year in business has been a memorable one with the couple’s Tinshed Brewery taking out top honours in the 2017 Dungog District Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

David, commonly known as Jimmy, said he was overwhelmed when first announced as the winner of the Outstanding New Business Award.
“There were so many great new businesses, we were truly surprised when we won that,” he said.
But later in the night when the Tinshed Brewery, which opened on October 28 last year, was also named the winner of the Overall Business Excellence award he was completely lost for words.
“I’ve never been known to be lost for words,” he laughed.
“It just goes to show you that hard work truly does pay off, with both Haley and I putting in 80 hours a week each.”
Close to 150 people attended the gala evening held at the Clarence Town School of Arts Hall on Saturday night, May 13.
Winner of the inaugural Hall of Fame Award was Chris Iacono from Bunna Bunoo Olive Grove.

Rural Producers and Manufacturing and Industry – Fosterton Biodynamic Farm.
Professional Services – Addison & Partners HR and Consulting.
Trades and Construction – Dungog Glass.
Outstanding Employee Under 25 – Adele Brennan-Holden from Shine Hair and Beauty.
Outstanding Employee Over 25 – Jack Redman, Dungog Tyre Service.
Retail – Shaw's Williams River Bakery.
Customer Service – Norris IT.
Environment and Sustainability (the Golden Axe Award) – Yeranda at Barrington Tops.
Community Sector – Colleen Duffy.
Chamber Members Award – Insurance Advisernet.
Chamber President Jennifer Lewis praised the members for their continued support, enthusiasm and commitment to the success of business in the shire.
