My professional background is in the financial services industry and I built a career as a business builder, risk manager and change management facilitator.
Since moving to the Crawford I have been actively involved in the community; volunteering for Meals on Wheels; Driver Reviver; restoring a designated war memorial building; researching and holding commemorative WW1 exhibitions over five years.
I am currently the Chair of the Wild Dog Control Bulahdelah and District, where I work closely with government agencies and landholders to ensure that we proactively and successfully manage wild dogs. In the first four months of 2017 we culled 54 dogs. Since attending the AWI sponsored trapping course in Ellerston/ Scone in July 2016, I have personally trapped 10 wild dogs.
The 2017 round of Board appointments has to focus on the implementation of the 2021 Strategic Plan. It will require strong direction from the new Board to balance priorities and oversee the translation of goals and strategies into measurable actions. In the Manning/Great Lakes and parts of the Lower Hunter there are smaller allotments, absentee landholders and significant physical and climate differences. Locally most recent focus has been on high rainfall/flooding/riparian zones; parramatta grass; buffalo fly; wild dogs and the more efficient use of nitrogen. It is critical that the Board has representation that understands these impacts and is committed to getting the best results for landholders.
