Chic and Antique opened its door recently and I have information that within the coming week we should see another business open its doors and perhaps yet another in the not too distant future.

Also with 16 new businesses nominated in the new business category in this year’s business awards it tells us that many are keen to take up the challenge and invest their future in the Dungog Shire.

New businesses are an important source of new investment in our community. 

Attracting new business to a local area obviously generates and increases the diversity and prosperity of the local economy and we need to support them.

No better opportunity to remember the value of spending our dollars locally and supporting these new businesses.

At the most basic level, when you buy local more money stays in the community.

If you are woman in business the "Women Do Business" Forum on 7th June, presented by the Dungog Community College is a must to attend.

Whether you're starting up, been at it for years, are the partner in a farm or small business, have a dream and don't know where to start or simply want to re-inspire yourself in your business, this forum is a great fit.

Congratulations to our nominees for the 2017 Business Awards.

This year we have received a record 230 nominations resulting in more than 140 nominees in our 12 Business Awards categories. 

Each year these Awards raise awareness of the contribution local businesses and individuals bring to our community and reward those that have provided great service throughout the year.

Tickets are still available to attend our awards presentation at the Clarence Town School of Arts Hall on 13 May, 2017. All are welcome.
