Numbers, quality slip

Mick Dillon from Dillon and Sons reported a total yarding of 940 head at Singleton last week, 100 head less than the previous sale. Quality was plainer overall in a firm to cheaper market. In the trade yarding prices for restockers was back with the best angus weaners reaching $4.42 a kilo and the pick of the remaining breeds $4.19. Prices for the best young butcher calves slipped to $3.87/kg while grain assisted yearlings purchased by processors reached $3.72.
