Maybe it's time to merge with Port Stephens council?

I came here from Port Stephens and the difference in council management, and maintenance of public areas, is huge. In my opinion it would be such a great benefit to town to merge with Port Stephens.

A lot of complaints but will they ever repair roads? Most of the roads up there been in use for many years since been first constructed and now need replacing.

The roads up that way, main roads and country roads, are in my opinion just a waiting death trap.

Our area is driving to get tourism involved within our community and how do we expect people to drive up our way and destroy their vehicles, let alone put families in danger driving on them? 

It really is a joke!

 I haven't lived down there since 1995. The roads were crap then and it sounds like they are no better now.

 Have you seen the council’s budget for road repairs? Have you seen how many kilometers of rural roads have to be maintained with these meager funds?

The roads are terrible, but try and drive to the conditions and avoid pot holes where you can, like watch the road ahead, look for puddles when there has been no rain (usually means pot holes), don’t look at phones, and enjoy the beautiful countryside with all its faults.

A definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result.  Drive carefully.

Limeburners Creek Road is dreadful! Our cars are being shaken and jolted to pieces. Only a matter of time before these roads cause a major devastating accident.

 There used to be two tar patch gangs that patched these roads. We have no more roads - what is the problem? You have a spray patch truck that wastes more than is needed. The old fellows never had problem patching the roads so what is the problem now?

I just burst another tyre on Stroud Hill Road. It is the fifth tyre over two cars I have busted.

 Parish’s Road, Hilldale also is shocking!

We should start planting flowers in those potholes.

Really hope if we merge with Port Stephens their road-building capabilities are a big improvement on the new piece of road south of the bridge at Glen Oak.

Many potholes have emerged and are filled with tar and the road wouldn't even have been down for a month.

Fosterton Road is also very bad. Visitors and family always complain about our roads.

On a Dungog road I buckled a mag wheel beyond repair and blew a medium-profile tyre, which was also unrepairable as it damaged the sidewall.

The road to Stroud often looks like the moon after rain.
