Easter success across the Dungog Shire

Beautiful autumn weather, combined with a number of events, saw large crowds this Easter long-weekend flocking to the Dungog Shire.

Many businesses and accommodation providers in the Dungog Shire reported excellent trading and lots of feedback from people with plenty of positive comments.

Visitors and day trippers looking for outdoor and activity-based experiences, as well campers, had been arriving throughout the week and were blessed with ideal weather conditions.

Scheduling of number of events over the Easter break this year appears to have been a great success and congratulations to all event organisers involved.

Business awards

Nominations for the 2017 Business Awards have now closed. Over 140 businesses and individuals have been nominated in 12 categories.

Nominees have been announced in this week’s edition of the Chronicle

A full list of nominees can also be found on our website www.ddcc.org.au and on the Dungog District Chamber of Commerce face book page.

This year we a received a record amount of nominations in the New Business category, which is encouraging.

We have added a new category the Hall of Fame award and, also thanks to our major sponsor The Dungog Chronicle, the winner of the Overall Business Excellence category will receive an advertising package with The Dungog Chronicle, which is valued in excess of $5000.

We hope that these local business awards give businesses a platform to not only build up their business but also inspire and motivate their employees.

We have some exceptional businesses and hardworking individuals in the Dungog Shire and we look forward to celebrating their achievements at our gala awards presentation.

Winner and runners up will be announced at our awards presentation on Saturday 13th May, 2017 at the Clarence Town School of Arts Hall at Clarence Town.

Our theme this year will be 1940s-inspired black and white. To book tickets head to our website www.ddcc.org.au  or email franziska@ddcc.org.au
